‘… We’re all human and anything can happen to us… ‘ Is such parlance congruous with those of us who share the Christian faith?

‘… We’re all human and anything can happen to us… ‘ Is such parlance congruous with those of us who share the Christian faith?

The words we speak carry power, determine the atmosphere we live in, our eventual outcomes, and are a reflection and representation of our future.

Our lives in the future reflect images of our currently spoken words. Words irreverently crafted today, birth a future programmed by such words. It takes very powerful words of today to obliterate and cancel the negatively spoken ones of yesterday, which would otherwise affect our tomorrow.

If we “prophesy” the above words, then clearly our lives shall take the trajectory of said words.

Let’s carefully consider this “prophecy” from the scriptural lens…

Our words speak death or life, and such words as stated only programme negative happenings. Proverbs 18:21 states that ” the tongue has power of life and death and those who live it will eat its fruit.” The deduction, therefore, is so simple! If you speak life , you will reap ” good fruit” and vice versa.

In Genesis 1: 10 and 12, we observe that ” GOD SAID” certain things and ” GOD SAW…” that the things he called forth were GOOD, and they came to pass !

Therefore, in the same light if we profess, confess or call forth words like ” we are all human and anything can happen to us ” then we should expect for ” anything to happen to us”.. and anything here includes the negative things of life .

As Christians , scriptures inform us that our words produce what we call forth. Hence, we need to speak by faith and NOT as the world speaks!

God’ commission to Joshua, in Joshua 1: 8 comes to mind…” This Book of the Law shall not depart FROM YOUR MOUTH, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then, you will MAKE YOUR WAY PROSPEROUS, and then you will HAVE GOOD SUCCESS.”

Our mouths are the means or pass through via which the promises of God and blessings should be called forth. We should, therefore, desist from the utterances of worldly folks. WE ARE NOT LIKE THEM as we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation , a peculiar people….1 Peter 2:9.

I thank God, who has brought us from darkness into his marvellous light. He continues to be the author and perfecter of our faith. He alone designs our lives, as HE has gifted us with righteousness to REIGN in life!
