Exo 17:11 Exodus 17:8-13, tells the story of how the Israelites defeated the Amalekites. The key to the victory was the raising and sustaining the rod of God by the hands of Moses. The rod of God was key to Moses’ assignment. The power of God was manifested through its use. From plagues in Egypt, to crossing the Red Sea, providing them water from the rock in the desert and now giving them victory over the Amalekites. There is no record of Moses being instructed by God as other times to use the rod of God. He had come to learn, in his walk with God, it produced the power to meet their needs. We must know what God has given unto us to put his power at work in our lives. We learn from this scripture that God co-labours with us. He always keeps His part and so must we, to secure victory over circumstances. When Moses got wearied and lowered his hand (rod of God) the Amalekites prevailed against the Israelites. From the human perspective, we think God should understand since tiredness or weariness is a natural phenomenon. But we learn from this scripture it is not the case. Life is more than we see, it is spiritual as well. There are rules and requirements in the spiritual realm that must be met through the action of men in the physical. God cannot play a role that is the responsibility of a man in the spirit.
Without such knowledge we erroneously judge God as heartless and hence the refrain, how can a loving God be in control and men suffer.
As you fellowship daily with Holy Spirit, you will know what to do. Persevere till the end, like they say in the gym, no pain no gain.
Snap out of the illusion, God understands, don’t give up and persevere to the end.
